Fili-Krushel
Ms. Fili-Krushel was previously president, ABC Daytime, since 1993, where she was responsible for leading ABC's daytime programming schedule to the number one position among women 18-49 years old, and for introducing "The View." Prior to joining ABC in this capacity, Ms. Fili-Krushel had been with Lifetime Television as group vice president, Hearst/ABC-Viacom Entertainment Services (HAVES) since 1990, and senior vice president, programming and production, Lifetime Television, since 1988. At Lifetime, the basic cable network geared primarily to women, Ms. Fili-Krushel was responsible for program acquisitions, development, production, scheduling and on-air promotion, with particular emphasis on the development and expansion of original programming, and introducing the network's world premiere movies. Ms. Fili-Krushel joined Lifetime from Home Box Office, Inc., where she had been vice president, business affairs and production, since December, 1984. In that position, she was responsible for overseeing all business aspects of the acquisition, production and sale of original programming for HBO and Cinemax pay-TV services. She also supervised the operational aspects of HBO and Cinemax programming productions. Ms. Fili-Krushel joined HBO in June, 1979, as director, sports administration. She became director of sports and specials, program budgeting, in September 1980; and was promoted to director of production in July, 1981. Two years later, she was named director of production and programming administration. Before joining HBO, Ms. Fili-Krushel worked from 1975 to 1979 for ABC in various positions, including program controller for ABC Sports. She holds a B.S. degree from St. John's University in Jamaica, New York, and an MBA degree from Fordham University. In 1998, Forbes featured Ms. Fili-Krushel among its "50 Most Powerful Women." Ms. Fili-Krushel has also been profiled in Broadcasting & Cable, Electronic Media, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Ms. Fili-Krushel is the Women's Project & Productions' 1999 Women of Achievement Award recipient. She was recently recognized as a 1999 Media Leadership honoree by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. Previously, Ms. Fili-Krushel was honored by the Police Athletic League as Woman of the Year for her achievements in creating innovative daytime television. In 1996, she received the prestigious Vision Award for her contributions toward the creative arts, and The City of New York's Crystal Apple Award for her distinctive career achievements and contributions to the entertainment community in New York. Awarded the Women In Film Muse Award in 1993, Ms. Fili-Krushel is past president of New York Women In Film; and is on the executive committee and the Board of Governors of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Ms. Fili-Krushel also sits on the Board of Directors of the Advertising Council and is a member of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy's Media Task Force. Ms. Fili-Krushel resides in Manhattan with her husband, Kenneth J. Krushel, and their two children.
