Maria Bustillo, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Director of Assisted Reproductive Technology Service with South Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine


Maria Bustillo, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Bustillo completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a research fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She has been board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology since 1983.

Dr. Bustillo has held numerous academic appointments throughout her career, including Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at both the Genetics and IVF Institute in Virginia, and the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Most recently, Dr. Bustillo has been the Clinical Director of the Assisted Reproductive Technology Program for the Center for Human Reproduction in New York City.

Dr. Bustillo is a member of numerous professional societies such as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and the Society for Gynecologic Investigation.

Dr. Bustillo served as President of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies, and the GynecoRadiology Society. Dr. Bustillo is currently the Vice President of the Society for the Advancement of Women's Health Research and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Fertility and Sterility and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics.

Dr. Bustillo has performed in excess of four thousand assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles while advancing the field of ART with the introduction of new concepts and technologies. She was recently named as one of the 401 Best Doctors for Women by Good Housekeeping.

In addition to English, Dr. Bustillo, a Cuban-American, is fluent in Spanish and French.
