The
Cost of Cool
What is the cost of being "cool?"
Produced by PCI, The Cost of Cool is
designed to show American teenagers the environmental
implications of their buying habits. Looking
at everyday items, from T-shirts to sneakers,
The Cost of Cool tracks the impact
of their manufacture on the world's resources.
Comparing the consumer cost of these items to
their actual environmental costs, the video
offers a revealing look at the problem over
over-consumption. The Cost of Cool
has received a CINE Golden Eagle Award.
PCI and the National Wildlife Federation also
produced a companion curriculum guide
designed to teach students how
to make informed consumer choices using sound
science and critical thinking.
